Annual Wasatch Rummage Sale has been moved to Saturday. April 17th. Start saving your old, no-longer-needed and gently used stuff!

Volunteer Opportunities - Please contact Caryn Willardsen, PTA Volunteer Coordinator, 801-558-5168 if you are interested in volunteering. These are some current particular needs:

  • Junior Achievement - Could you consider 5 weeks for 25-45 minutes each week? We are looking for nine volunteers to help with the Junior Achievement program. JA educates and inspires young people to value free enterprise, business, and economics to improve the quality of their lives. See www.ja.org for more information.
  • Star Reading Program - Tutors work one on one with students struggling with reading for 1/2 hour blocks twice a week on either M/W or T/Th.  If you are interested come to the training on Wednesday, January 20th at 9:00 am.  The training will be less than an hour.

Art for Art's Sake Family Night Tuesday, February 23rd from 6:30-8:00 PM. Bring the whole family and create something original! Choose two 45-minute sessions. Sign up for Japanese Gyotaku prints, wire sculptures, pastel scratch drawings, soap carving, pop-up sculpture, block prints, portraiture, or origami paper stars.

Music Show 'n Tells, Thursday, February 25 during music class. Parents are invited to come and enjoy music class with your child in our music rooms. Many thanks to Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Krummenacher, our music teachers!

Parent Drama Performances -You are invited to our second trimester drama performances. Please join us at 9:00AM on the following days:

  • Wednesday March 3, **Please note the change from our usual schedule.** Mrs. Eccleston, Mrs. Lloyd, and Mrs. Fuller's classes will be performing
  • Friday, March 5, Mrs. Rudloff and Ms. Carruth's classes will perform.

No School, Monday, March 8 Faculty Professional Development day.

Neighborhood Kindergarten Registration is Friday, March 12th from 10:30-2:30PM. Spread the word! Registration for kindergarten students who live within Wasatch boundaries. (All other students will register May 14th.)

Keyboarding Practice
Here are some practice activities to ramp up those keyboarding skills! We are working hard to improve our skills. Students should practice about 15 minutes a day at home. By the end of the year the minimum goal should be as follows:

  • 3rd graders should type 15 WPM (words per minute)
  • 4th graders should type 20 WPM
  • 5th graders should type 25 WPM
  • 6th graders should type 27 WPM

National Library of Virtual Manipulatives (NLVM) - The best math web site in the west! Kids love these games by Utah State University. Tons to do and learn.
